Group Activity: “Psychological Sharing Group Activity for Relatives of Prisoners and Convicts”
Dear Participants,
As VICDAN FOUNDATION, we organize group studies where individuals who experience the same difficulties can come together and share their experiences and feelings. In these studies, we aim to help you discover ways to cope with the difficulties you experience by drawing strength from each other. This week, we will be conducting a special study with relatives of prisoners and convicts. Our group study will be led by psychologist Ali Dolgunyürek, who is a volunteer trainer and manager of our foundation.

Location : CONSCIENCE FOUNDATION Ankara Center
Duration : Three hour session
Number of Participants : Limited to 20 people
Format : Live and face to face
Study Content
1. How do you define your problem?
• Participants will describe and share the difficulties they experience and their emotional states.
2. How Did This Problem Affect Your Life?
• The effects of difficulties on your daily life, relationships and general health will be discussed.
3. How Did You Respond to This Trouble?
• Strategies and methods for coping with difficulties will be shared.
4. How Do You Keep Your Hope Alive?
• Discussions will be held on how to maintain hope and motivation.
5. Have you found mediums to express your feelings and thoughts?
• The importance of safe environments for emotional expression and how you can find such environments will be discussed.
6. How Do You Deal With Your Children and Peers?
• The difficulties you experienced in your relationships with your loved ones and how you coped with these difficulties will be discussed.
7. How Did You Get Over It When You Felt Lonely?
• Ways to cope with feelings of loneliness and sources of support will be discussed.
8. What are your three major challenges?
• Each participant will share the three biggest challenges they face and brainstorm solutions to these challenges.
Participation Conditions and Application Process
• Individuals who want to participate in group work must fill out the application form.
• Participants are expected to briefly express the difficulties they experienced and their expectations from this study during the application process.
• Application results will be announced via e-mail on the specified dates.
• The number of participants is limited to 20 people.
Target group
• Spouses of Prisoners and Convicts : Individuals whose spouses are prisoners or convicts and who want to cope with the difficulties they experience during this process.
• Detained and Convicted Parents : Parents whose children are detained or convict and who want to share the effects of this situation on their family.
• Close Relatives and Friends : Other family members and friends who have relatives who are detained or convicted and are seeking support during this process.
Purpose and Objectives of the Study
• Helping participants to alleviate their difficulties and emotional processes by sharing them.
• To ensure that participants feel that they are not alone by providing an environment of solidarity and support.
• Sharing knowledge and experience on coping strategies and sources of hope
• To support participants to be stronger and more determined in their daily lives by increasing psychological resilience.
